ΑΛЄΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Head of Alexander 'the Great' to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with horseman spearing fallen captive. Rev. ΚΟΙ•ΜΑΚЄΔΟΝ[ΩΝ] / Β ΝЄ Two tetrastyle temples seen from front; between them, tall column surmounted by a statue of Alexander the Great (?) standing facing, head to left, holding spear in his right hand and parazonium in his left. AMNG III/1, -. Price & Trell 120 and fig. 451. RPC VII.2 online 294.1 (this coin). Very rare and with an interesting reverse type. Minor deposits and with two old scratches on the obverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
